We are proof and pray to continue to be proof that you can be married in the entertainment industry and still be blessed and relevant.

There were all sorts of advice in our earlier years to not be vocal about our marriage.

“Do you know so, so, so and so is married but he doesn’t talk about it?”

“Have you seen XYZ’s wife’s picture before? That’s because nobody knows he’s married”

“You know it’s women that watch movies the most. If they know you’re married, they may stop watching.”

“Think about your fan base”

While I recognize that this may have come from genuine concern particularly for my husband’s career, this advice is nothing short of DEMONIC!

Marriage was ordained by GOD from the very beginning!

The CREATOR of EVERYTHING ordained wife to be married to husband, man to find a woman and build with her.Anything or any industry or career path that tries to shame or taint marriage is ANTI-CHRIST!!

Young actors, young entertainers, and young men in general, there is SAFETY in being married and not being ashamed of your wife! Also young “upwardly mobile” women, earning more than your husbands, there is SAFETY in not being ashamed of him.

This is a full message, one that I can’t preach right now, but I’ll just say again that anything that wants you to hide or be ashamed of your marriage is suspect!!

Like one woman said to me at a busstop in Abuja years ago, just as I was about to enter “one chance” – SHINE YOUR EYE!!!
