Love of God

A day to the playdate, in the wee hours of the morning, while men slept, I was praying. First, I was thankful that the playdate was coming together nicely, almost everything was in place and it hadn’t cost an arm and a leg.

The trick was to make it very clear that only kids and their nannies were invited (because it is we parents that will be looking for Singapore noodles and pork ribs. Everybody else is fine with fries/Jollof rice). So the budget was looking good, invites had gone out, everything seemed okay but I couldn’t shake off a feeling that something was missing. I was toying with the idea of adding “one more thing” to the party pack but it wasn’t sitting well, so I pressed in.

“LORD, should I add something to the packs? What else should I give the kids? What is on your heart for this party?”

And AS CLEAR AS DAY, I heard GOD say, “Give the nannies their own gifts”

“Woooow… GOD!! Woooow…”

The nannies… the ones almost always neglected at parties, the ones almost always overlooked. They were on the heart of the Father!!!! Because He doesn’t just care about us and our children, He cares about the nannies as well, the caregivers because they are also His children!!!

My heart sang! I was so excited!!!!

I sent a message to my planner, @tianahstreats- we have to get something for the nannies and I know the perfect gift!

Before the end of the day, their gifts arrived and they were wrapped nicely in individual bags.

What did I get them?

Ankara 5 yards each. From Balogun. They were affordable. Cost almost the same price as that “one more thina” that I would have added to the kid’ party packs

Oh, the joy on their faces.

“Thank you ma. Thank you ma. Please can I collect for my second? Thank you ma”

Look at GOD, bringing joy to ALL.

Didn’t the angels sing, “Joy to the world?” Not joy to only us and our children but joy TO THE WORLD!!

Halleluyah!!!

I’m sharing this because I believe it’s time to normalise giving nannies their own gifts at our children’s parties.

Can we do this? Please

Thank you
