“You are who you are by virtue of the company you keep”. This is so true. We really do become the company we keep so it’s important to choose this company wisely.

We moved houses early this year and I found myself picking up on the habits of some of my new neighbours. 

I went from someone who struggled to keep one potted plant in my old house to someone who pretty much has the local florist on speed dial simply because almost every house around me is surrounded by beautiful plants.

I went from inheriting the few plants that were left behind to buying pot after pot and plant after plant, constantly calling Mr James to “bring one more” and to “give me the one wey get colour”.

And then whenever he comes, I’ll point to the houses with the fullest arrangements and say, “I want make this place look like that one” to which he would respond, “Madam those people spend money o, they spend money well well”.

Anyway, just through to remind us that we become the company we keep so let’s choose wisely.
